Libraries are traditionally a place where people can go without judgement or cost. Not all libraries are the same, but every one of them is a warm, welcoming, free, and safe space you can visit across the county.

As temperatures drop, remember that Gloucestershire Libraries offer free, warm, and welcoming spaces across the county. Come in and discover everything your local library has to offer!

While individual libraries across the county may vary, we consistently provide:

  • Welcoming spaces to sit, relax, and stay warm.
  • Free internet access, including Wi-Fi and bookable computers.
  • Charging points for your devices.
  • Signposting to advice and support such as housing, free data sims or health services.
  • Free activities such as homework help, knit and natter groups, library clubs and more.

If you're finding things tough this winter, you're not alone — and the library is here for you. There’s no pressure, no cost, and no need to explain — just come as you are. Find your nearest library at gloslibraries.uk/your-libraries

Watch this space! We will be recognising Warm Welcome Week which runs from Monday 19 January to Sunday 25 January 2026.
