Gloucestershire Libraries are inviting the community to take part in Greener Together Week to inspire people to lead a lower carbon lifestyle.

The week will be a celebration of sustainable living and aims to inspire individuals and local communities to adopt practical steps towards leading a greener lifestyle.

It will include author visits, promotion of the ‘Greener Together’ book collection and an opportunity to have your say on plans to develop outdoor spaces at two libraries. Events are taking place from Saturday 16 March to Saturday 23 March 2024 and advance booking is required. Customers can book online via the online catalogue or in person by visiting any council library.

Adult and teen events:

Embrace the journey towards a sustainable lifestyle by joining a series of enlightening author events. These thought-provoking sessions, featuring renowned authors Kate Hughes, John Walker, Milli Proust, Claudi Williams, and Jen Gale, offer unique insights into environmental exploration, veganic gardening, floral arranging, waste reduction and sustainable living. Children and family events:

Two acclaimed children’s authors, Clara Anganuzzi and Holly Webb, will be captivating young audiences with interactive and artistic events. These engaging sessions promise to inspire children to explore their creativity while promoting a love for the environment.

Launching projects with Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust

Gloucestershire Libraries are working alongside the team at Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust to develop the outdoor spaces at Hesters Way and Newent Libraries. Two community engagement events will be held to explore ideas and possibilities for making the library gardens as green, eco and sustainable as possible. Free refreshments will be provided and everyone is welcome.
