Description
This June, in honour of Pride Month, attend one of 6 creative workshops across the county where you’ll work collaboratively with inter-disciplinary artists to produce a piece of artwork (representing one of the colours of the LGBTQ flag) that encapsulates themes of love, queerness, self-expression, identity and experiences of the LGBTQ community. Join us for a hands-on fiber crafts workshop at Tewkesbury Library, designed for beginners and enthusiasts alike. This event will focus on the art of crochet and other fiber crafts, celebrating creativity and community. Learn the basics of crochet, a craft with low entry requirements, making it easy for you to continue practicing on your own after the workshop. Try your hand at weaving with a rigid heddle loom and spinning yarn with a spinning wheel. Experience these traditional crafts and add your creations to our collaborative project. All the pieces created during the workshop will be sewn together to make a beautiful blanket, which will be displayed at the library after the event. Contribute to a collective artwork that showcases the creativity and skills of our community.Everyone is welcome to attend however people aged 12+ will find the session more engaging. This is a free event. If you are unable to attend please cancel your space so that someone else can take your place.Gloucestershire Libraries are committed to creating an inclusive community and are working towards a place where everyone feels welcome, safe and valued for who they are.
