How much does it cost?

Annual Subscription (from 01/02/2024)
This is a single payment made at membership sign-up or renewal and annually thereafter.
- £10 for group based in Gloucestershire
- £20 for group based outside Gloucestershire
Off the shelf is a charge for customers who visit Gloucester Library with an ad hoc request for a specific set or sets that are available for borrowing immediately, i.e. no pending reservation(s). Browsing is not available for this service.
Chamber Music set
- £15 for up to a 3-month hire
- £7.50 for up to a 3-month hire (off the shelf)
Part Song set (per 40 copies)
- £15 for up to a 6-month hire (reserved)
- £7.50 for up to a 6-month hire (off the shelf)
Orchestral sets from Gloucestershire collection
- £20 for up to a 6-month hire for performances within Gloucestershire
- £10 for up to a 6-month hire (off the shelf) for performances within Gloucestershire
- £30 for up to a 6-month hire for performances outside Gloucestershire
- £15 for up to a 6-month hire (off the shelf) for performances outside Gloucestershire

- £30 for up to a 6-month hire for performances within Gloucestershire
- £40 for up to a 6-month hire for performances outside Gloucestershire
- Not available for performances out of the country
Choral Music from Gloucestershire collection
- £20 for up to a 6-month hire per 40 copies for performances within Gloucestershire
- £10 for up to a 6-month hire (off the shelf) per 40 copies for performances within Gloucestershire
- £35 for up to a 6-month hire per 40 copies for performances outside Gloucestershire
- £15 for up to a 6-month hire (off the shelf) per 40 copies for performances outside Gloucestershire
Choral Music from Inter-Library Loan (ILL)
- £35 for up to a 6-month hire per 40 copies for performances within Gloucestershire
- £55 for up to a 6-month hire per 40 copies for performances outside Gloucestershire
- Not available for performances out of the country
Collection - Packing and preparation of music sets
- FREE when collecting from Gloucester Library
- £10 when collecting from another Gloucestershire library (excluding community libraries)
- Please note that music sets must be returned to the same library that they are borrowed from

- You can collect items directly from Gloucester Library during opening hours.
- Alternatively, when you place your order, you can request to collect items from another Gloucestershire library.
- This does not include Community Libraries and will incur an additional charge - please see below.

How do I pay for charges?
When you make your request online you will need to pay using a credit or debit card. Any additional charges for the items you have requested will be added to your library account at the point we process your reservation, e.g. obtaining some or all of the set through an Inter-Library Loan (ILL).
You can pay:

- At all libraries: by credit or debit card payment, cash or cheque

The annual subscription charge is non-refundable.
- If the requested music has been fully sourced and prepared, there will be no refund.
- Any borrowing charges will be credited to your library membership if the requested music has not been sourced and prepared, or if we are unable to source your requested items.
Borrow Play Sets
We have over 1000 play sets in stock for you to borrow or reserve.
The play set collection is located at Gloucester Library and most are available to browse on the open shelves:
- Visit Gloucester Library to borrow a play set where the loan is free, or
- Reserve and collect from a library of your choice, £8 charge for a 3 month loan.
