Description

Why Flash Fiction AND Poetry? Flash Fiction has become very popular with both readers and writers, but telling a story in as few words as possible requires skill that can be developed.  Practice putting thought into the choice of words and phrases to be kept in your piece and which should be ditched as superfluous. This is a similar process to the tight writing of poetry (remember that free verse doesn't necessarily have to rhyme).  In fact, poetic prose may even be turned into prose poetry--another genre rising in popularity. Beginner and intermediate writers, come and join us.  Let your creative thoughts flow without the end goal of a poem... unless you want to.  The workshop is led by Josephine Lay, a writer and poet with a degree and an MA in Creative Writing.  She has published three poetry collections and previously ran The Gloucestershire Poetry Society.Date and time clashes with your schedule?  We have another poetry workshop on Tuesdays!
