Download the Spydus Library app and use a smartphone or tablet to manage your library account and loans on the go!
Easily switch to manage other family accounts. The app also gives you full search functionality to discover items you might like to reserve and borrow plus more.
With the new app, you can:

- Access your virtual library card and barcode
- Scan any book’s ISBN to check if we have it in stock
This new app replaces both the Spydus Mobile and Gloucestershire Libraries apps from 1st September, 2025. Please note, the new app does not replace the online catalogue at gloucestershire.spydus.co.uk or using physical library cards.
Get started and download the new app now:
Once installed:
- Open the app and tap Select Library
- Search for Gloucestershire Libraries
- Log in using your library card borrower number and PIN

Reservations and audio books will transfer over.
If wish lists were created in the old app and were only visible in the app, they would not transfer over but if they were created in the account online, they will transfer over though they are not currently visible in the new app.
To go through to the catalogue in the new app, put something into the search box (Discover) and then click on the account/profile icon, there you will see the lists.
