Description
Come along to hear from Sue Bradley as she shares insights into her knitting book Pattern: Hand Knitting Designs from Around the World. This is a book for hand knitters who love pattern, colour and inspiration, and have a desire to create their own beautiful designs. With 28 knitting patterns for garments and accessories inspired by textiles and artefacts from all over the world, each chapter focuses on the culture and textile heritage of a specific country.
Sue will bring examples of some of the garments in her book, and all are welcome to stay for a knit and natter in the library following the talk. This is a free event, but please book ahead to ensure a space.
This event is taking place during Warm Welcome Week, a time when we'll be doing our best to help you tackle the winter blues. We invite you to come in out of the cold and enjoy our library spaces, whether that's choosing a new read, using our digital services, coming to one of our events, or simply taking a moment to sit down and warm up.
Gloucestershire Libraries are committed to creating an inclusive community and are working towards a place where everyone feels welcome, safe and valued for who they are. Our events are for everyone: We welcome you whatever your socio-economic background, ability, gender, gender identity, race, ethnicity, age, religious beliefs or sexual orientation. If you have any access requirements or if you need further information about the event, please contact [email protected] ahead of the session.
