Description

Come along to Stonehouse Library to see the exciting new Wallbridge Automaton and learn more about the history of the canal. This fabulous, automated, miniature museum takes you inside the famous 18th century painting of Wallbridge, Stroud (housed at the Museum in the Park), which has been reproduced in layers with secret viewing holes revealing animated wonders. Designed to spark curiosity and intrigue, it’s the perfect starting point to explore stories about our past, present and future.

Pop into the library between 2:30 and 4:30 pm to explore the Wallbridge Automaton, with the option to stay and write your own story about the canal.

Suitable for all ages and all children must be accompanied by an adult.

This event is part of The Library Challenge 2025. Click here to find out more about the ways we’re celebrating the Natural World this year and the fun challenges that you can complete.
