Are you ready to make your mark on social media? This is your opportunity to take over the library’s TikTok account and pitch your own creative campaign to bring more young people into our libraries. If you love creating content, have big ideas, and want to learn the secrets of social media success, this workshop is for you!

Over five weeks, you’ll learn everything from branding and video planning to filming, editing, and pitching your campaign like a pro. By the end, you’ll have the skills to create scroll-stopping content and maybe even see your ideas go live on our official TikTok!

Designed for 16-24 year olds, you will:

  • Get hands-on experience with real-world social media marketing
  • Build creative and digital skills for your future
  • have a chance to influence how libraries connect with young people

 

What to expect

Find us in The Lab (staff will be able to direct you)

Week 1: Kick-Off & Creative Foundations
Meet your workshop leader and dive into the world of social media marketing. Learn what makes a strong brand voice and tone and explore how top creators are doing it. We’ll research, share ideas, and make it interactive!

Week 2: From Idea to Plan
Get your creative juices flowing! We’ll brainstorm, write a video brief, and develop a full campaign plan that speaks to your audience.

Week 3: Lights, Camera, Action!
Discover filming techniques, shot types, and how to make your videos pop. Then, it’s time to start shooting your content.

Week 4: Edit Like a Pro
Learn the essentials of editing to make your videos shine. You’ll polish your footage and bring your vision to life.

Week 5: Pitch & Publish
Find out how to submit your work to a client and schedule posts. Then, pitch your campaign to the judges and see who wins the TikTok takeover!
