DigiFest - Get Started with Coding in JavaScript

Digifest at The Labs is an exciting festival designed for adults to explore the world of digital skills. Across Gloucestershire, we’re offering a range of free courses and creative workshops to help you learn, experiment, and gain confidence with technology. Whether you want to try something new or build on existing skills, Digifest is your chance to discover, create, Provided to you for FREE from funding by Libraries Connected.

Take your first steps into the world of programming as we explore JavaScript.

In this workshop, we'll run you through the basics of working with a Compiler, a Programming Language, and the p5.js Library, to get you up and running with skills you can take home to develop further.

If you aren't familiar with any of these terms, then don't worry - this event is for you! We're starting from complete zero, with an aim to make it easier to learn more in future.

By the end of it you'll understand what Variables are, you will know the difference between a Function and an Argument, and will have a created your own code from scratch!
